As we meditate more and more, our awareness extends to deeper insights about our self and the inner and outer worlds. Whether secular or religious these insights help us to see that the underlying mind is infact incredibly simple and straightforward and has always been here.
We then see that it is our ordinary way of relating to things that causes the anxiety and stress. It causes our body to become tense, we lose our peace of mind and our feelings become more and more difficult to face. Through facing our feelings and gaining insight into the way things have always been we learn to live a spiritual life based on basic self honesty, compassion and insight.
